How to launch a Sky Dancers doll
Every new owner asks the same thing after the first try: why did she only hop? The answer is almost always the pull. Here is how we teach it.
1. Seat her properly
Push the doll straight down onto the launcher until she sits flat. If she leans, she will fly sideways. Wings should hang loose under the arms, not folded against the body.
2. Aim at open air
Hold the launcher upright at chest height and point it at sky or a high ceiling — never toward faces, lamps or windows. Outside, a calm day is best; a breeze will carry her off sideways.
3. One fast, straight pull
Grip the handle and draw the cord out in a single quick stroke, straight away from the launcher. A slow tug barely turns the base; a fast, even pull spins it hard and she leaves spinning. Let the cord rewind by itself before the next launch.
4. Watch the twirl and catch
At the top of the climb her wings open and she drifts down in a spiral. That slow fall is the catching window. Two dolls launched at once turn it into a race.
Keeping the cord happy
- Pull straight, not at an angle — angled pulls rub the cord on the housing.
- Let the cord wind back fully before the next pull.
- If it squeaks or catches, ease it out and in slowly a few times.
- Younger kids: an adult starts the pull, the child finishes it.
